The Funkenflug organizes in December a twin competition. The superior topic is poetry. Interested persons could send in submissions until the 31st December both within and outside the Lord of the Rings online (Lotro). There are appealling prizes waiting for both contests as rewards for lyrical, poetical texts.

The Mereden based newspaper likes to stimulate the poetic streak of its readers. On the one hand should be considered the region of Swanfleet and on the other hand would it be worth thinking about dwarves in «The Hobbit». These are the exact conditions:

Conditions of participations::
There are two contests at the same time: Treasure Chest of Idioms [A] addresses to player of «Lord of the Rings online» (Lotro). Poetry Pearls [B] speaks to fans of Tolkien. It’s possible to participate in both competitions once. And for [A] all servers are welcome.
Deadline:
31st December, 24:00 o’clock GMT
Input options:
By Mail [wettbewerb@funkenflug.ag] or webform with the subject for [A] «Treasure Chest 2022» and for [B] «Pearls 2022».
The Funkenflug is allowed to publish all submitted materials.
Contents:
To the contest Treasure Chest of Idioms [A] it should be devised a poetical text like a poem, a prose, lyrics or something similar. This contribution has to be related with the new region Swanfleet. A text and pictures (it’s also possible to send a video) record Swanfleet and it has to be from and about Swanfleet.
To Poetry Pearls [B] it should be devised a poetical text like a poem, a prose, lyrics or something similar. This input has to be associated with a or the dwarves in the book «The Hobbit» from J.R.R. Tolkien and the reference to the story in «The Hobbit» get to be done.
Competition requests:
Every participant has to fulfil and submit following points:
- It has to be clear if the submission is for contest Treasure Chest of Idioms [A] or Poetry Pearls [B].
- Every submission has to contain a lyrical or poetic text.
- Every submission has to submit the name of the originator.
Additional to Treasure Chest of Idioms [A]:
- Every submission has to send in a picture from Swanfleet, perhaps also a video.
- Every submission is obliged to attach a picture of the character.
Additional to Poetry Pearls [B]:
- Every submission relates to the page in «The Hobbit», to which the contest input refers.
Further consolations are welcome.
Evaluation:
The Jury, members of the editor board and external persons, will evaluate all submissions. Members of the jury are Sebylla and Idda Goldkerze from «Der Auenlandbote», Lilienfee from the «Beschützer des Lichtes», Noldofinwe and Colcalad from the editor board. Further members are possible. Eventually the readers will be asked for their opinion. The exact mode of evaluation depends on the numbers of submissions and will be discussed and decided in deadline time. This will be communicated to all participants and readers.
The criterias for the evaluation are the idea of the submission, the creativity and effort, the quality, the medias and texts and a personal rating of the jury members.

1st prize: 800 Lotro-Points, Event-Winner Title, Speaker of Words Title, if you wish a Tolkien-Calendar 2023 by post

3rd prize: 200 Lotro-Points, Speaker of Words Title
4th to 7th prizes: each 100 Lotro-Points
