Grosse Änderungen testete Lotro mit update 30 auf Bullroar, doch update 30 Azogs Blut brachte diese Änderungen nicht. Scenario, Chefentwickler von Lotro, erklärte die Gründe für die Nichtberücksichtigung.

Die Einrichtungsflächen schmale, kleine und grosse Möbel sollten in einer Art Einrichtungsfeld zusammengefasst werden, so dass nachher nur noch Möbel und besondere Möbel unterschieden wird. Ebenso sollte es mit den kleinen und grossen Bodenflächen geschehen zu einem Feld Bodenflächen.
Ebenso testete Lotro aus kleiner Wand und grosser Wand ein Typ Wand zu machen. Der Funkenflug berichtete, ebenso D&Co du Milieu.
Von all diesen Änderungen kam nun nichts. Scenario, der Chefentwickler von Lotro, musste aufgrund ungelöster Details das Vorhaben im letzten Moment stoppen, diese Änderungen in update 30 mitzuberücksichtigen. Bullroar sei ein Testserver und leider gelinge es nicht immer alle Wünsche termingerecht bereit zu haben. Die Zeit war die fehlende Komponente in diesem Fall.

Scenario am Mittwoch, 8. Juni:
We are really excited about offering the consolidated hooks as well! But, at the end of the day, there was still too much work to do on it and because of that we decided to pull it from Update 30. I would much rather have it good and finished instead of having it in the partial state it was previewed in. This is one of the challenges with the preview servers – they are previews of what we are working on. And while much of what we preview will make it into the final product, sometimes certain things just need a bit more time to bake.
Scenario bestätigte aber den Plan von Lotro, dass schmale, kleine und grosse Möbel zu einem Typ vereint werden sollen, ebenso die Bodenflächen. Bei den Wänden gäbe es aber Probleme, die zusätzliche Arbeiten erfordern. Die kleinen Wände können nicht gleich herumgeschoben werden wie die grossen. Wahrscheinlich werde das Neigen/Kippen dann bei den kleinen Wänden neu deaktiviert.

We are also currently considering changes to Wall Hooks, that would combine Small and Large Wall Hooks into “Wall Hooks”. This change, however, requires some conversation because Small and Large Wall Hooks have different methods of rotation (Tilt for Small, Heading for Large), and consolidating those could potentially remove the Tilt option.
I think having the option for both would be great – but there is the question of time in schedule for that, as it would require engineering support. If it’s a question of sooner rather than later, would it be preferred to have the consolidation happen before adding in the additional rotation options? Or would it be preferred to wait until an option for both is implemented? Most of the remaining work are things I can do – except for this which would mean it would have to go in the queue behind other larger engineering efforts.
Auf die Rückfrage hin, ob man Licht und Deckenfelder nicht auch vereinen könnte, meinte Scenario nur, dass dies nicht geplant ist. Ausserdem haben sich einige wegen mehr Licht in den gondorischen und Häusern, der alten Gebieten gemeldet.
